The story of TiTech starts in the late 80's. The founders Trond Scheiene and Le Thai Hoa further developed an 1965 NASA model. The new and improved Trailing Shield® (No: Slepesko) was successfuly re-born, tested and patented.
The company Ti-Tech Titansveis og utstyr AS was established in 1994. And with the new Trailing Shield® great metallurgical success, Trailing Shield® was quickly put into use by the Norwegian oil & gas industry.
Trailing Shield® is a state-of-the-art welding enhancement tool designed to interface with the industry’s most common machine or manual gas tungsten arc welding (TIG/GTAW), metal arc welding (MIG/GMAW) and plasma welding (PAW) torches.
Provides better gas coverage in the heat affected zone (HAZ) and prevents oxidation, weld defects, re-work and allows faster welding.
Trailing Shield® are designed for high quality gas coverage during welding of Titanium and other high alloy metals.
Trailing shield® (first generation) was manufactured for the titanium industry.
Trailing Shield® 2.0 ™ was launched in 2020. This model is designed for the titanium, super duplex and stainless steel industries and has an improved laminar gas flow witch contributes to even better gas coverage in the heat-affected zone (HAZ).
